Faith Harper wins REALTOR® of the Year, Erle Morring is Broker of the Year

In a glitzy, red-carpet-style celebration, the Birmingham Association of REALTORS® honored its 2018 Awards Program winners June 14 at The Club with nearly 400 members watching.

“What an amazing group of talented real estate professionals,” said 2018 BAR President Kim Mangham-Barelare. “These are proven leaders who represent the highest ideals of our profession, and we couldn’t be prouder of their success.”

Faith Harper of RE/MAX Northern took home the coveted REALTOR® of the Year award and will go on to compete for the honor on the state level. Harper is the 2017 president of the Birmingham Association of REALTORS® and has a 2018 National Association of REALTORS® directorship representing Alabama. She was chosen for the prestigious local award because she exemplifies the REALTOR® spirit, is accomplished in business, serves her community, and is actively involved in the local, state and national REALTOR® organizations.

The 2017 Residential Broker of the Year award was also presented Thursday. Erle Morring of RealtySouth Acton Road clinched the award for having an “enviable record of service to the real estate profession and to the association and demonstrating skill, expertise and productivity in the role of a residential qualifying broker.” Morring was recognized for ethical conduct, professionalism and his knowledge.

The Tom Rast President’s Cup honors 25 years or more of accomplishment in real estate brokerage and in service to the local association. The 2018 President’s Cup honoree Pam Segars Morris of SeBro Realty has three decades of industry experience and is a past winner of the Alabama REALTORS® David D. Roberts Award, past president of the Alabama Association of REALTORS®, and served in 1993, 1994 and 2005 as president of the Bessemer Board of REALTORS®, which has merged with BAR.

The 2018 Affiliate of the Year Kelley Bailey of Movement Mortgage is active in several BAR committees and was integral in record-breaking fundraising in 2017 and 2018 for the BAR Bowl for Kids’ Sake event. This year the Birmingham Association of REALTORS® event raised a record $14,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Birmingham. Affiliate Members of BAR represent businesses and professionals whose work is related to the real estate industry. These professionals support and are involved in the association, from serving on committees and sponsoring events to developing leadership skills and networking.

Kyle Forstman of Ingram & Associates garnered the 2018 Residential Sales Associate of the Year award for his enviable record of service to the real estate profession and to the association. He is knowledgeable, had a great year of sales achievement and operated ethically and professionally.

When Jordan Hosey of Keller Williams Hoover went on stage to accept the 2017 Residential Sales Rookie of the Year award, she walked up hand-in-hand with Aaron, her husband and partner in success. Consider Hosey a rock star rookie who closed an impressive number of residential sales units in 2017. The rookie award is a nod to new residential sales associates who excel during their short real estate careers.
