2017 BAR Awards/Membership Luncheon & Annual Election set for July 20

It's that time of year many members of the Birmingham Association of REALTORS® simply love -- awards season. Nominations are in for 2017 REALTOR® of the Year, Earline Cummings Affiliate of the Year, Residential Broker of the Year, Residential Sales Associate of the Year or to receive the Tom Rast President’s Cup. Awards will be presented at the July 20 BAR Awards/Membership & Annual Election Luncheon. Past winners are ineligible to win again.

Elections will also occur at the luncheon, so all members of the Birmingham Association of REALTORS® are urged to attend. BAR REALTOR® members will vote for a secretary for a one-year term as well as four directors to serve a three-year term. A fifth director will be appointed by the 2017 BAR President. BAR board members Bo Draughon, Chris Wood, Anita Latham, Luciana Guin and Tony Birk are retiring. One director position is appointed by the president. Secretary David Lucas will advance to Treasurer in 2018. Watch your email for election details and an official ballot. 
 

About the awards:

REALTOR® of the Year. Nominees must exemplify the REALTOR® Spirit and rate high in service to the association and community. They must also demonstrate excellent business accomplishment. NOTE: Previous winners are ineligible.

Earline Cummings Affiliate of the Year. Nominees must exemplify professionalism, knowledge, and demonstrate a high degree of ethics and service to REALTORS®. They must have an outstanding record of business achievements, and be either the Affiliate Member or an Affiliate Associate Member of the Birmingham Association of REALTORS® for the current year. Nominees will be evaluated based on their record of accomplishment as Affiliate Members. 

Residential Broker of the Year. Nominees must exemplify the REALTOR® Image, and have an enviable record of service to the real estate profession and to the association. They must demonstrate skill, expertise, and productivity in the role of a residential qualifying broker, as well as rate high in ethical conduct, professionalism and knowledge. Only qualifying brokers are eligible. This award is restricted to the calendar year 2016. The broker office must have been in existence as of June 1, 2015.

Residential Sales Associate of the Year. Nominees must exemplify the REALTOR® Image, and have an enviable record of service to the real estate profession and to the Association. They must rate high in sales achievement, ethics, professionalism and knowledge. All sales associates are eligible except qualifying brokers/managers and sales managers.  

Tom Rast President’s Cup.
This is a lifetime achievement award to honor a REALTOR® who has demonstrated sales achievement, ethical conduct, professionalism, knowledge and cooperation in business dealings. Candidates must have been a continuous member of the Association for 25 years or longer.
